Heartburn can be hell – and a serious case of heartburn is painful and extremely unpleasant. Ask someone who knows. While occasional heartburn is not unusual, especially if you have eaten something out of the ordinary, if it becomes a regular feature of your life, it is time to take a serious look at your diet.

Here are some quick tips to reduce the severity and the frequency of heartburn episodes:

  • Avoid chewing gum – it makes your stomach produce more acid
  • Stay away from meals that are too fatty and spicy
  • Do not eat huge meals in the two hours before you go to bed
  • Try and stop smoking
  • Cut down on caffeine-laden drinks, and also fizzy ones

Try these. And do add your own tips in the comments. 🙂
