Good Carb, Bad Carb

Less sugar, less carbs, better mood, is the mantra.

Seriously, there are two good reasons to eat carbs – carbohydrates such as sugars and grains, for
example –

1. As you begin your day, carbs helps you process information better during the day. This means whole grains, such as a bowl of cereal or a toast are good for this.

2. Shortly before doing a lot of heavy exercize, carbs from grains  can give you the energy to push your limits.

Aside of this, carbs actually drag down your energy. I have heard from a number of people who have discovered how they feel more energetic and vitalized when they swear off past or pizza at dinner time, and stop taking bread or buns with dinner.

If you eat enough fruit during the day to keep a healthy diet, a few whole-grain carbs early in the day should be enough, without dragging down your energy level later on.
